Description

COLOMA 8 AÑOS (SPANISH RUM)

- Colombian origin
- Molasses rum
- Spanish style

The Constain family is the creator of Coloma Rum in 1959. Alberto Constain Medina became the owner of the "hacienda" built at the end of the 19th century in the village of Fusagasuga in central Colombia. Initially they grow coffee, called Coloma, a few years later they produce a liqueur with the same name which becomes very popular throughout the country. Although it was his dream to be able to open a rum distillery, at the time it was not allowed under Colombian law. In 2005 the law changed and distillation in private companies was allowed. The son decides to restart the production of rum with the car of two Colombian master blenders, Sandra Reatigul and Judith Ramirez. Coloma is produced from the distillation of molasses, it rests for 8 years in oak barrels that previously contained bourbon and from 6 to 12 months it finishes its refinement in bottles used for the storage of the homonymous
Coffee Liquor.
