FIFTY POUNDS LONDON DRY GIN
This London Dry Gin, of high quality and image positioning, takes its name from those distant times in which London distillers were subjected to the payment of a tax of 50 pounds at the time (Fifty Pounds).
The manufacturing company, "Thames Distillers", is a small distillery in the south-eastern area of London, which has been in business for over two centuries and belongs to a family with ancient production traditions; the Master Distiller is among other things the President of the Association of English Distillers.
Fifty Pounds London Dry Gin is obtained starting from the neutral base of a cereal brandy, distilled four times; the vegetable ingredients are immersed in this base for a period of two days, after which the whole is distilled a fifth time in an old "John Doore" still (traditionally known in London as "the Rolls Royce of stills"). After the fifth distillation, the liquid remains at rest for at least three weeks before bottling, to allow the vegetable ingredients to blend perfectly.
The production of Fifty Pounds London Dry Gin takes place according to the oldest method, for small batches, and each bottle bears the batch number and the year of distillation. The alcohol content is set at 43.5% vol., ideal for drinking the distillate straight or mixed: not too low, that is, so as not to lose its character, not too high so as not to distort the precious vegetable aromas
The very elegant bottle of Fifty Pounds London Dry Gin is the modern version of the dark and heavy bottles of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, produced with a square section to facilitate transport.
